Use creative methods to encourage disadvantaged students to excel by offering mentorship, summer camps and after school activities,” Mr Wisdom Dordoe said. Speaking at the launch, guest speaker Miss Ophelia Oni said “we need to boost the confidence of students through constant and consistent engagement with accomplished personalities from across the professional field…We must narrow the gap between the student world and professional world” The founder of the foundation however called on institutions, NGOs, philanthropists, donors and advocates to support the campaign.

Twenty women from Abossey Okai Zongo, Agbogboshie, Korle Gono, Kasoa, and Mallam were the first batch to start.
The founder of the Foundation, Wisdom Dordoe, said the programme was part of women empowerment adaptation measures to reduce poverty and promote quality livelihoods among the people, especially women.
He believes training the women would serve as an income generating venture to make money to enable them to take good care of their families.
Reducing poverty among women requires a mix of pro-poor policies and strategies which target the informal sector and vulnerable groups such as the youth and women,” he said.
According to him, many other women will benefit from in the near future.
For her part, Dede Asary, the General Manager for Alfie Design said the company is a woman-focused one which is into manufacturing of apparel and training of women for free.
They believe in training vulnerable group of girls and women so they gain access to affordable informal training and entrepreneurial support services, which in the long term contributes to an enabling environment that promotes women enterprise.
The training takes three months after which the trainees are ready employment for them while they advance themselves.
Lauding the great work done by the Foundation, she said her company’s motivation to partner with them is the remarkable work they are doing in touching lives.
She is calling on institutions, philanthropist, donors, individuals to support the Give Me Hope Foundation to touch more lives.

Young Ghanaian banker, Wisdom Dordoe took a double leap of faith when he decided to touch the lives of under-privileged children and other vulnerable groups by setting up Give Me Hope Charity Foundation in 2013.
With the daunting challenges of our generation, as various careers and professions are becoming more competitive, it is inspiring to acknowledge the efforts of individuals who turn their talents into charitable causes in improving the lives of others.
These are the admirable works of a young banking professional, Wisdom Dordoe who has risen through all odds and has extended his gift beyond securing fortunes for himself, but pushing for social change through charity works.
And this is how the attention of many Ghanaians have been drawn to Give Me Hope Foundation, a non-profit organization which seeks to protect, help and nurture street children, as well as all vulnerable groups so they can aspire for a better future.
Founded in August 2013, Give Me Hope Foundation was set up by Wisdom Dordoe, working with Fidelity Bank in Accra to help address the needs of streets children due to his life-experience growing up as a child.
The foundation’s primary membership constitutes other young professionals both from Ghana’s private and public sector who mobilize resources from private pockets to fund all charity activities of the foundation.
Give Me Hope Foundation’s core objective is to provide children from deprived communities the basic needs, as well as financial support and mentorship programmes to discover their inner potentials.
“The mission of the foundation is to inspire the hopeless, empower the street child and extend a helping hand to children in the deprived areas of Ghana. We also provide quality primary education to children through integrated programs and structures that eliminate the underlying obstacles that prevent children from going to school and learning,” Wisdom Dordoe, said in an interview.
Wisdom who currently serves as the Executive Director of the foundation, in his media interaction added that, “We also provide financial help by offering scholarships, concession and free education to children from poor and deserving families, that stimulates their enterprise and effectiveness towards education”.
Aside education, the foundation also empowers young adults, especially women by enrolling them in vocational schools and other apprenticeship skills and cater for their full financial needs throughout their study/training.
The foundation with the help of its health volunteers also conducts health screening exercises in rural communities to help detect and treats diseases that may potentially attack the poorest of the poor in deprived communities.
In order to promote total benefits of health, the foundation embarks on sensitization programmes and health campaigns in rural and urban slums around the cities in parts of Ghana.
Access to clean water is also a top priority on the foundation’s activities. To this effect, Give Me Hope Foundation provides clean drinking water to deprived areas to curb water borne diseases in under-served communities.
Food Aid, is another key area the foundation is focused on. As part of quarterly activities, Give Me Hope organizes food bazaars which are aimed at feeding a wide range of people especially homeless kids who are fending for themselves by hawking on our dangerous streets.
Give Me Hope Foundation also advocates for persons with disabilities in order to obtain benefits from relevant institutions and bodies in support of the blind, and persons due to injuries, accident or mental and physical health conditions.
Another area the foundation is deep-rooted is providing voluntary emergency services and social assistance during natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes and also provide aid to the aged.
Since the inception of the foundation, it has successfully embarked on a number of projects, including School uniforms and shoes donations, providing tuition and classroom fees, After-School Tutorial Program providing teachings and nutritious meals.
Others include Eye of the Lord Orphanage Medical Screening and donations, Village of Hope Orphanage donations as well as a donation to Budumburam refugee camp among others.
Currently, the foundation seeks to draw attention to the daily struggles of inmates of Nsawam Prisons and the Borstal Institute for Juveniles as they fight to survive through whatever means in serving their jail term.

Give Me Hope Charity Foundation, a non-profit organisation, in collaboration with its partners, have donated assorted items worth over GH¢60,000 to the Female Division of the Nsawam Medium Security Prisons in the Eastern Region.
The items included sanitary pads, baby diapers and bath sets, bathing soaps, tooth pastes and brushes, 50 plastic chairs, 200 pieces of towels and bed-sheets, washing powder, sachets water and food items.
The gesture forms part of the Foundation’s commitment to touching lives and restoring hopes to the needy and the less-privileged in the society.
The visit afforded members of the Foundation the opportunity to interact with the inmates to hear their stories and understand the reality of being in prison cells.
There were counselling sessions for the inmates and motivational talks from seasoned speakers and men of God.
The inmates participated in fun-filled activities and were treated to good music and feast.
Wisdom Dodoe, the Founder of Give Me Hope Charity Foundation, who led the members to distribute some of the items to the inmates, said he was inspired to form the Foundation because that was a way to help humanity.
Mr Dodoe said the Foundation had engaged in such charity act since it was established in August 2013 where it had provided support and restored hope to many who had given up, with the support from other sponsors.
He said the Foundation, through its charity works, had empowered many street children by sponsoring them to school and many young adults, especially women, through vocational and skills training.
“We have provided financial help by offering scholarships to some children from poor families and we have helped such children up to the Tertiary level. We currently have one of such children to the Tertiary level and she is at the Koforidua Technical University,” Mr Dodoe said.
Mr Dodoe said the Foundation provided charity works including food aid, clean drinking water, sensitization and public advocacies and health screening in rural communities.
“We want to thank everybody who helped us to make this happen today and we call on corporate bodies to come on board and support us in our future endeavours,” Mr Dordoe added.
Mrs Gloria Amegatcher, the President of Give Me Hope Foundation, said the Foundation stood to give hope to the less-privileged by putting smiles on their faces.
She noted that the female inmates needed more love because of their condition as some were pregnant and nursing mothers.
“We know how difficult it is for one to be a prisoner, especially to some of the inmates here who are pregnant and the nursing mothers. Some of them have given up on life already but we want to tell them that it is not over with their lives.”
Mr George Ayisi, the Sales Manager at Labardi Beach Hotel, one of the Foundation’s partners, said the Hotel was happy to sponsor the Foundation’s activities because it saw it as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility.
“We believe that it is a good cause and we need to support it. So our doors are opened for such noble acts. It is very amazing to hear some of the stories they say here (at the prisons). Some have been neglected and they need items like this to survive so why not support them for a worthy cause”
Superintendent Joyce Annor Owusu, the Officer in-charge, thanked the Foundation for the gesture and said the inmates needed more of such support from the public to make them feel good.
